Besides Clear Creek and Gilpin counties being two of the smallest
counties in Colorado, the also share a good bit of history. Look
here. (As of 2000, of the 64 counties in Colorado,
Clear Creek was the 59th in area and 39th in population. Gilpin was 62nd in
area and 51st in population. This is in spite of the fact that both these counties
serve as residential areas for people working in the Denver metropolitan area.)
County Resources
Before looking at a county's resource page, you might want to check the
information on how to get birth or death certificates, marriage or divorce
certificates, adoption records, etc. These are maintained by the state of
Colorado. The web address is

who may have been attending the school in 1941."
